I’m Al Padilla, songwriter, musician, producer, recording artist, and the creative force behind Short Circuit®.

Music has been part of my life for decades. I started as a musician long before today’s technology existed—playing instruments, performing live, writing songs, recording, and developing my own approach to making music.

For me, music has never been about chasing trends. It’s about creating something with heart, honesty, and craftsmanship—music that people can connect with long after the last note fades.

About Short Circuit

Short Circuit has been part of my musical journey for decades. Through different musicians, different eras, live performances, recording projects, reunions, and plenty of changes along the way, the purpose has remained the same: to write and create music that connects with people.

Today, I continue that history through Short Circuit, bringing everything I’ve learned as a songwriter, musician, performer, and producer into the music I create.

About HYBRID and the Recording

HYBRID brings together traditional musicianship and modern recording technology.

Every song on the album began with me—the writing, lyrics, melodies, musical ideas, arrangements, performances, and creative direction.

The album was recorded and mixed at Little Big Sound Studio and professionally mastered at Abbey Road Studios in London by mastering engineer Andrew Walter.

Modern technology, including AI-assisted tools, was used selectively during the production process to help polish and enhance material I had already created. The songs themselves were not generated by artificial intelligence.

To me, AI is simply another studio tool. It does not replace the songwriter, the musician, the performance, or the human story behind the music.

That combination of traditional musicianship, decades of experience, and today’s recording technology is exactly why I called the album HYBRID.
